Natracare was created as a campaign to shake up the menstrual products industry with real, viable eco-friendly alternatives for periods.
Meet Susie, our founder and owner. She’s an eco-warrior, a pioneer, and developed the world’s first brand of organic and natural period products in 1989.
“In the 1980s I learnt about the dangers of dioxin pollution and the damaging impact of plastics. I was appalled to find my period products contained all these ingredients, and no natural disposable option existed. My immediate response was to research and develop an alternative that actually respected our bodies and our planet.”
Today the work doesn’t stop. We’re always improving the performance of the products, and finding new sustainable innovations to look after our environment.
Being an ethical company means behaving consciously in everything we do. Our core principles are:
Kind to health
Kind to the planet
Kind to people
Natracare aims to be responsible and ethical in all areas of its business. This includes who we are as a company, how we work with people and the planet, as well as our manufacturing practises.
We apply these same principles to Natracare products. This means all of our period pads, incontinence, maternity, and everyday care products are made with organic and natural materials. Designed to be kinder to your skin and to the planet!
Our entire supply chain, from raw materials, processing, and end of life of our products, shares in our commitment to manage and monitor resources respectfully and transparently. Everything we do is a commitment to the highest ethical standards focussed on organic and sustainable principles, which gains us many awards and validations, and reflects who we are. This is why The Good Shopping Guide repeatedly rank Natracare full marks for ethical period products.
Actions speak louder than words. That’s why every year we proudly donate 1% of our turnover to environmental causes.
We’re members of 1% for the Planet. This means we partner with non-profits and charities to help give back to our Earth. Below are just some of the amazing organisations we work with:
- Marine Conservation Society (MSC)
- Women Engage for a Common Future (WECF)
