This summer thanks to the help of Cleo Pearson, a 17 year old volunteer with a desire to help others, Natracare donated sanitary products to the Triumph Care & Development Centre, a school and orphanage in Ghana. Cleo, who is spending the summer working at the Centre, is taking Natracare products with her to Ghana as a gift to the girls. Sanitary products are hard to get and expensive in Ghana so we really hope they will make a big difference to the lives of the girls at the Centre.
KIDS worldwide is the organisation behind trips such as these organising placements for approximately 500 international volunteers, such as Cleo, every year. The volunteers take part in children’s projects, of which there are over 40 located in 17 developing countries worldwide, Ghana being one of those countries.
The Triumph Care & Development Centre offers volunteers the opportunity to spend time with the Centre’s children, getting to know them and becoming their friend. Volunteers live on site which means that they are able experience everyday life in a developing country first hand. There is currently no running water at the Centre meaning water has to be taken from a bore hole close to the Centre with a pump. However, a water system is in the process of being constructed so there should hopefully be running water in the not too distant future.
We look forward to seeing photos and hearing all about Cleo’s stay!
