For 5 days in September 2010, Susie Hewson and
her sister Theresa White, are embarking on their second Natracare
Sisters in partnership for change event by taking part in the
Women for Women Cycle challenge.
We are both doing this to help the charity
raise at least £200,000 to improve the health of women and babies by
training women scientists and clinicians.
This time it's China and 450kms of
cycling in whatever the weather or the terrain throws at us and yes, we
will do it singing!
After the desert challenge of Jordan in 2009,
we know what we are in for - another tough, physical challenge; this is
why we need your continuing support!
It will require a huge amount of personal time
sacrifice in order for us to train sufficiently for this cycle trek.
Again we are devoting our annual leave to the challenge, cycling 450
kilometres (281 miles) through the Beijing region countryside, alongside
rivers and through steep gorges (with its 8 mile uphill cycle), even
alongside the Great Wall.

Natracare is contributing all of the costs for our participation in this challenge so that everything you donate goes directly to the charity. In this way, we hope to raise as much money as possible to help train women scientists and clinicians to work on research into conditions affecting women and their babies – empowering more women to lead in this field.
Women for Women aims to support a first class environment for training basic and clinical women scientists who will pioneer medical research in these fields and lead in other key centres around the UK and overseas in the new millennium.
“Funds raised by Women for Women will support that which we all hold most dear – the birth of a healthy baby – investing in our family’s health. This vital medical research will to some extent affect every man, woman and child in this country.”
- Professor Robert Winston, Chairman of Women for Women and the Institute of Obstetrics and Gynaecology Trust.
